Engineering Manager
Essential FunctionsoSet goals, mentor, evaluate, and motivate Engineering staffManage departmental budget.oImplement, monitor, and report on capital project work across the facility.oDevelop alternative approaches to implementation of capital projects that reduce costs.oDevelop and implement project plan(s) that resolve planned improvements, equipment enhancements, and/or capital expansions as the Project Manager.oPerform analysis (financial/operational) to indicate the feasibility of projects and process changeoResearch and submit Capital Project requests, selects equipment, conducts contractor pre-qualifications, award bids, budgets, and coordinates work with suppliers and contractors to assure completion time and within budget.oServe as a liaison with Operations, Maintenance, and other teams in which capital work is performed.oManage and coordinate the annual capital plan with Finance and the rest of the management team.oLeads project engineers, drafters/designers, construction coordinators and the Automation team.Key Competencies Planning Execution Cost Management Communication Strong written skills Required Qualifications Minimum of 10 years plant engineering experience working in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 5 years in an Engineering Management role in manufacturing. Demonstrated experience in construction project management needed. Strong project management skills Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Ability to complete projects on time. Ability to schedule resources effectively to meet operational needs and schedules. Experience using SAP and Microsoft Project. EducationBachelor's degree from an accredited institution in mechanical, electrical or related technical degree in engineering.Work Environment External - Working outside in the elements - rain, cold, heat - dusty environment. Internally - Office environment. Physical Demands Walking, standing, climbing stairs and ladders. Sitting at a computer for an extensive time.
